Breathable bedding
This coverlet set is a game changer, it’s adorable and 100% cotton INCLUDING the filling, which usually runs up a premium price. This one is affordable and the quality is amazing too. All of our bedding at this point is natural fibers and I feel so lucky about that! I got the dusty rose color, I’ve been adding pops of pink to the bedroom lately, but there are so many great color options available.

Machine washable wool mattress protector
On that note, the last thing I switched to natural fibers was this wool mattress protector. We’ve put it to the test with a baby in the bed (the accidents have happened) and they wash out beautifully while my precious birch mattress stays safe underneath! Wool is temperature regulating to boot, so we’re all sleeping better.

Elegant and affordable curtains
As a cosleeping mama these pinch pleat blackout curtains were essential. They have a luxury feel to the touch which is really nice when it comes to things you physically interact with multiple times a day. They’re also weighted which makes them hang beautifully. The pinch pleat makes them look super expensive – but they’re not! My toddler has started sleeping in until 9 ever since I installed these!

Every girl needs a floral print
I recently added this large floral print to my bedroom and it makes it feel so grown up and feminine, one big piece of art goes a long way! Scale is your friend when it comes to decor, it’s an easy way to make a space look very upscale and put together.

Large statement vase
Again with the scale tip, but it carries over to so many things! Adding this vase in my room let me incorporate natural materials. It’s so eye catching because of the height!

Pendant light
Mine is a hand me down but I also looooove this one, pop it over a chair and you have an intentional reading nook!

Lamps lamps … more lamps!
Good lighting is non negotiable in a bedroom, I have four lamps for this reason! These table lamps are gorgeous with vintage charm, and a great price to boot. They also have a small footprint, which is a nice feature for a bedside table where you want to set things.

Lumbar pillow to the rescue
If you’re a busy mom like me, you don’t really want to spend time in the morning arranging 10 separate pillows on your bed. A lumbar pillow solves this issue, and still makes your bed look put together in seconds! I love the hand printed block print on this one. It also doubled as a pregnancy pillow for me!

Invest in a good rug
I’m hesitant to link anything for this because picking a rug is SO personal, and really difficult even for a design minded girl like me, but I just thought this one was too pretty not to share! It’s also wool, which is really important if you look into the frequencies of fabric and how they affect your body. I will say the bedroom is the one room I wouldn’t do a jute rug since they tend to be rougher and not so comfortable, springing for a low pile good quality wool is always the best way to go for a rug and this one is so affordable! I went too long without putting my feet on something warm and soft when I first wake up, having a good rug literally helps me start my day off on the right foot.

Sunrise alarm clock
Sticking with the comfort theme, stop waking yourself up with a blaring alarm! That’s going to set your nervous system off first thing in the morning. Your room should be a sanctuary. I cannot say enough good things about this sunrise alarm clock. It’s also a nightlight, sound machine (which my family NEEDS to sleep) it has battery backup so if the power goes out I don’t have to worry about baby waking up, and the best part? NO WIFI. We initially had a Hatch which is way more expensive, doesn’t have battery backup, and blasts EMFs around your baby all night. This one is even a Bluetooth speaker if you’re into that kind of thing.
And thats it! These small changes really made a difference for me, I hope they do the same for you!
